I recently watched a global warming/climate change documentary from one of our senators here in the Philippines but I was not satisfied because the big factories/industries affecting the climate was not mentioned as one of the contributor of global warming. The document was more about people throwing plastics and garbage and using so much electricity and energy. That these exercise are the main contributor of climate change. How about the factories? I believe, the consumers buy products because they saw it in the television. People are being influenced by the media who were also influenced by the capitalists. How about include in the advertisement the ways how to recycle these products? I mean for God's sake, we all know there are a lot of people who do not know more about the effects of throwing plastics, its given! and it's a fact! It's a fact also that the factories kept producing unnecessary product! Producing products beyond the needs of the people. It's also a fact that the owners of these factories/industries only care about the money they can get from this products. They do not care about the climate and the people. If they care about the people and the climate, why not include in their advertisement the ways to recycle their products, the plastics and the packaging of their products?
For me, global warming/climate change is not just because of plastics and garbage. It's also because of the big factories and industries. The government should do something about it and not blame the consumers alone.
I was sad after watching the documentary because it seemed to me that the people who are the consumers were blamed for the climate change. It was mentioned in the documentary that "we do not have to change our lifestyle and technology because it will help us move to a more progressive country."
I certainly do not agree.
